Jay White is expected to miss one to two months after picking up an injury in the eight man Tailgate Brawl at AEW All Out last weekend, POST Wrestling reports. AEW has not said what the injury is or exactly when in the match it happened. Tony Schiavone said on air: "We understand Jay White will be out one to two months as a result of the physicality that he encountered from what you saw." PWTorch's Collision report described it as several months, so the exact timeline is unclear

The timing is cruel. White had only returned in June after a broken hand, suffered in March 2025, kept him out for more than a year. He was just getting back into a rhythm. Injuries like this are a reminder of how physically demanding wrestling is, especially in chaotic multi man matches

In the match itself, White teamed with Ace Austin, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn of the Bang Bang Gang against David Finlay, Clark Connors, Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia. White won the match by hitting Yuta with the Blade Runner, so he at least went out on a high. The Bang Bang Gang lost to the Death Riders on Collision without him, which shows how much they miss their leader

White is one of the most talented performers in AEW, and his long absence after the hand injury was frustrating for fans. Another spell on the sidelines will slow down any plans AEW had for him heading into the end of the year. Hopefully it is the shorter end of the estimate and he is back before the big winter shows

How has AEW used Jay White since his return? And should promotions cut down on chaotic multi man brawls to reduce injuries?
