Asuka: 'I haven't left WWE, I haven't quit'

[Brittle Ronan]

Asuka has moved to shut down rumours that she has left WWE. Responding to a fan on X on 3 October, she wrote that she has not left the group and has not quit. Fightful has the story. Fans had been speculating for months about her future with the company. Her reply was short and to the point

The rumours started back in May. After losing to IYO SKY at WWE Backlash, Asuka said an emotional goodbye on Raw, embracing IYO in a moment that many fans read as a farewell. At the time, Asuka explained she was stepping away to deal with a personal matter. She said it was not a permanent departure or the end of her contract

Despite that, the long absence has kept the speculation going. There is still no word on when she will return to the ring. The former WWE Women's Champion has been one of the company's most consistent performers since arriving from NXT. Her undefeated streak in NXT remains one of the most memorable runs in that brand's history

Personal matters deserve privacy, and it is good that she has felt able to reassure fans without saying more than she wants to. Wrestlers face a lot of pressure to explain every absence on social media. The fact she still had to clarify months later shows how quickly rumours spread online

Asuka returning with a fresh storyline would be a big moment, especially with the Damage CTRL history and her connection with IYO SKY. What would you like to see from her when she comes back? And would you want her straight into the title picture?
