The Associated Press covered Andre The Giant being honoured with a roadside marker in Ellerbe, North Carolina, where he lived on a ranch during his wrestling career. It is a lovely nostalgia story because Andre was not just a wrestling attraction, he was one of the first names who made wrestling feel larger than life to people outside the usual fanbase. Does Andre belong on wrestling's Mount Rushmore?

Andre absolutely belongs in the conversation because he was famous far beyond regular wrestling fans

The North Carolina marker is a nice touch because it shows the person behind the legend

Before cable and the internet made everyone visible, Andre still felt like a worldwide attraction

He may not be the modern workrate pick, but as a wrestling icon he is almost impossible to leave out
