AEW used the June 17 Dynamite from Houston to seriously build out the Forbidden Door card, adding multiple matches and edging closer to confirming the marquee bouts. With NJPW involved again the dream match possibilities are doing the rounds

The one everyone keeps circling is Kenny Omega against Zack Sabre Jr, a technical and high end clash that hardcore fans have wanted for ages. If that gets locked in it instantly becomes a match of the year contender on paper

There was also a 12 man tag and an Owen Cup semifinal in the mix, with MJF and Mark Briscoe picking their Forbidden Door teams. Tony Khan being Tony Khan, he is giving away a lot of strong wrestling on free TV in the build

The criticism is the usual one, that AEW sometimes overstuffs cards and dilutes the big moments. But for pure in ring quality the cross promotion shows still deliver more than almost anything else
