AEW Grand Slam France: Ospreay retains against Okada as the WrestleDream card grows

Will Ospreay retained the AEW Championship against Kazuchika Okada at Dynamite: Grand Slam France at the Adidas Arena in Paris, POST Wrestling reports. Ospreay kicked out of the Rainmaker, Okada survived a Hidden Blade and a Stormbreaker, and a final Hidden Blade won it. It was another chapter in one of the great rivalries of modern wrestling, and the Paris crowd got a classic

The win earned Ospreay a place in the Clockwork Carnage match for the title at WrestleDream. Samoa Joe was the first to qualify, beating Jack Perry with a Muscle Buster in his first match since Double or Nothing after Perry spat at him. Clockwork Carnage is an eight man match where a new wrestler enters every three minutes, followed by a 15 minute scoring period with no eliminations. Whoever has the most falls at the end wins

Elsewhere, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle beat Jon Moxley and Gabe Kidd after Davis hit a pendulum piledriver on Kidd. That sets up Moxley against Davis for the Continental Championship. The rest of the WrestleDream card so far features Mercedes Moné against Thekla for the Women's Championship, a two out of three falls Trios title match and the Young Bucks defending the Tag Team titles against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight

WrestleDream takes place on 17 October in Orlando. Mike Bailey against Lee Moriarty on Collision is the next Clockwork Carnage qualifier. Last week we discussed whether the format would be too complicated, but having Ospreay and Samoa Joe confirmed already makes it look like a strong main event. Six more places are still to fill

Was Ospreay against Okada worth the trip to Paris? And who else do you want in Clockwork Carnage?
