This week's AEW Dynamite in Pittsburgh was billed as A Tribute to PAC, and by all accounts it was an emotional night. The show opened with an in memoriam graphic for Benjamin Satterley, and the locker room gathered at ringside for a ten bell salute. Many wrestlers were visibly emotional. An empty chair with PAC's towel was reportedly kept on display through the show

Renee Paquette read a statement from PAC's wife, mother and father thanking fans and the wrestling community for their support. There were video tributes from wrestlers including Ricochet, Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland and Darby Allin sharing personal memories, and Jon Moxley cut a promo about honouring those who have passed. The show closed with a video montage of PAC's career, including audio of him expressing his gratitude. It sounds like there was hardly a dry eye in the building

In the ring, Jon Moxley retained the AEW Continental Championship against Orange Cassidy. Will Ospreay beat Ricochet, which must have been an emotional match given how both of them spoke about PAC. The big storyline moment was The Elite reuniting, with Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page and the Young Bucks teaming up against the Don Callis Family. In the trios match, Thunder Rosa, Hyan and Marina Shafir beat Britt Baker, Persephone and Mercedes Mone

Shows like this are always hard to judge as normal wrestling television. The wrestlers have to perform while grieving a friend, and the focus is rightly on remembering him. From the reports, AEW seems to have struck a respectful balance. Nobody would have blamed them for keeping it simple

Did anyone watch it? How did you find the tributes, and is The Elite reunion the right move for AEW going forward?
