Every home has strange little rules that make perfect sense to the people who live there and no sense to outsiders. Certain mugs belong to certain drinks, cushions must face a certain way, or one drawer becomes a mysterious museum of batteries, tape, and keys nobody recognises.

These rules are not always logical, but they create order in a world that keeps trying to become crumbs and laundry.

What irrational household rule do you live by?
