Some objects seem designed to test the human spirit. Packaging that refuses to open, chargers that only work at one angle, fitted sheets, printer trays, and those plastic seals on milk bottles all have a dark energy.

It is never the big disasters that break you. It is trying to open a packet of ham at 7.30 in the morning and realising the easy peel corner was a myth.

Which ordinary object has personally wronged you?

Fitted sheets. Folding them neatly is not a real thing and nobody can convince me otherwise
