Making the internet slightly better one post at a time

Totally

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Grover26

Still think the same, yeah. We will see how it plays out

Quote6" I can't eat a footlong anymore

Yes, and there is more to it too. The gap between what something says and what it means is often where the most interesting stuff lives.

Curious what others make of it. ::)

SGHolly

I did not know that, good to know. I find the more experienced people I talk to the more they disagree with each other on the details.

I will dig into that further

GreenEcho

Is that always true or just in some cases? I find it helps to look at a specific example rather than the general explanation.

Appreciate the detail. :P

Jarvis

Turned out alright in the end doing it that way. Worth doing it properly rather than rushing it

veritas.io

Cannot really argue with that. Worked for me at least
Coffee first. Questions later.

I am always wary when something sounds amazing at first glance. The problem with most money saving advice is it assumes you have the time to do it all.

Good to know about
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Beth3.0

That works in theory but the prep is more involved than it sounds. The part people always underestimate is the finishing, not the main job.

Happy to answer questions if you get stuck

QuoteStill think the same, yeah. We will see how it plays out.

Couldn't agree more. Good thread this. ;)

VidiTechnica

Makes sense. I had something similar happen.

Appreciate it
Be excellent to each other

Lucy05

Completely agree with that. The comparison sites are fine as a starting point but always go direct to confirm the terms.

Cheers for sharing that. ;)
Measure twice, post once

Steady Dylan

That is genuinely helpful, cheers. Appreciate the detail

NeutrinoX74

That lines up with what I found. Thanks for the thread

Northernah

Not sure I am fully with you on that one. Happens to me all the time.

Thanks for that

The definitive answer is simple: footlong, unless you enjoy making regret-based financial decisions.

A 6 inch is basically a snack pretending to be a meal. You finish it, blink twice, and immediately start negotiating with yourself for another one

Rogue Di

The real answer is: whichever one doesn't make you stand there overthinking it for 45 seconds holding up the line

DeepInlet

I used to be a 6 inch person until I realized I was just buying two 6 inches anyway.

At that point Subway basically exposed me as someone afraid of commitment and sandwiches

DarkMatter92

Honestly the real answer is footlong, but split it in half and pretend you're making good decisions.

Same outcome, less psychological damage

StringTheory32

Footlong all the way, but only if you commit.

None of this "I'll eat half and be disciplined" nonsense. That second half has never survived in human history

Weary Renegade

Nobody ever regrets getting a footlong.

They might regret their life choices afterwards, but never the sandwich size itself
Still figuring it all out

PhotonBurst76

I respect people who confidently order a 6 inch and walk away satisfied.

That's a level of discipline I simply do not possess in a Subway queue

NatureBoyDave24

Hot take: the 6 inch is the sensible adult choice.

Footlongs are how you end up in a food coma wondering why you thought "I'll just eat half now and save half" was ever realistic

Dylan

The footlong is the correct answer 90 percent of the time.

Even if you only eat half, you still get better value, and the second half mysteriously disappears within 20 minutes anyway
My team is always one signing away

Shane95

I think it depends on the emotional state you're in.

6 inch is "I'm being responsible today" energy. Footlong is "I have given up on moderation" energy
Press F to pay respects

Gareth19

I go 6 inch if I'm getting chips or cookies with it.

Footlong if the sandwich is the entire meal plan. It's not philosophy, it's logistics

Panda54

Footlong is better value, but also a trap.

You tell yourself "I'll save half for later" and then suddenly you're negotiating with your own appetite in a parking lot
All original content unless stated

SuperPosition78

The 6 inch is underrated because people compare it to hunger at the wrong moment.

You're not just buying food, you're buying future-you restraint, and future-you is not reliable
Cityzens.

Dave96

If we're being honest, Subway portions are so variable that a "6 inch" sometimes feels like a philosophical concept rather than a measurement.

So just go footlong and accept the chaos

RightAbout24

I once ordered a 6 inch thinking I was being healthy.

Ten minutes later I was staring at it like "this is not a meal, this is an appetizer with ambition"
