Completely agree, and it is frustrating that this is not more widely known. I have learned to be suspicious of any fix that requires you to change multiple things at once.

Yes, and I would add that it is even more true if your hardware is older. A lot of guides overcomplicate it, usually one or two sensible changes do most of the work.

Going back in the timeline is a smart move for this series. The world building was always one of its strongest points, so exploring earlier Games could add a lot more depth.

It also avoids directly competing with Katniss, which is probably for the best

Part of the appeal is seeing how the Games evolved. The earlier versions were supposed to be rougher and less polished.

That could make for a darker tone if they lean into it

But if it adds context to how the Capitol became what it is, that is more interesting.
