Totally

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I like them all especially when they meat up

QuoteOoh that's a hard one

Yeah that is the sensible route. Should sort it if the basics are fine

Demi-Q

QuoteThat is exactly it. Nice one.

Easy to say that now but ask again in a month. People always overreact to the latest result, which is half the problem with these debates.

Cannot wait for the game to settle it

Not sure I am fully with you on that one. Ha, fair enough

QuoteDefinitely not tom.

Exactly what I found. The thing that keeps me going back is usually the atmosphere more than the mechanics.

Good shout
The truth is usually more complicated than the headline

KnotKnull

Completely agree with that. Good to know about

TheGreatMoney

Completely agree with that. Not a life changer but it adds up

Teal Sparrow

Bit fiddly but that is the right approach. Usually the annoying part is not the job itself, it is fixing the bit you did not plan for.

Good luck with it
Somewhere between inspired and overwhelmed

TheRizz

Agree with that. Useful to know

StoneCold

QuoteAgree with that. Useful to know.

Not fully convinced by that part of it. Usually the issue is software and not hardware even when it feels like hardware.

Worth trying before anything more drastic

Vanessa26

That matches what the more reliable sources are saying. There is usually a quieter more important story sitting just behind the obvious headline.

That is my read on it anyway

The terms and conditions usually tell a different story. The trick with this sort of thing is checking the catches before getting carried away.

Worth doing even if the saving is small
Football is life. Everything else is just details.

TheGreatMoney

I would only bother if the saving is real and not just headline nonsense. Every bit helps at the moment

QuantumLeap53

Yes, and I would add that it is even more true if your hardware is older. The amount of time people spend on complicated fixes when the answer is usually a startup item is remarkable.

Let us know how it goes

Outlaw

QuoteCompletely agree with that. Not a life changer but it adds up.

Ended up in the same place, yeah. Good luck with it

codeberg

Pretty much where I landed after trying a few things. Happy to help further if you get stuck

Bussin

QuoteAgree with that. Useful to know.

Could you explain the bit about that a bit more? Going to look that up properly

If we're talking pure Spider-Man energy, I actually think Tom Holland gets closest to the comic book feel. He's awkward, impulsive, funny, and constantly overwhelmed, which is very Peter Parker.

But Tobey has that legendary status that comes from being first. He's not just Spider-Man in people's minds, he basically *is* Spider-Man for a whole generation. That kind of cultural imprint is hard to beat

NeutrinoX74

Tobey Maguire is definitely the OG and for a lot of people that alone makes him the best. Those first two Raimi films basically defined how superhero movies would feel for the next decade. The emotional weight, the practical effects, the meme legacy, it all still holds up more than people admit.

That said, I don't think "OG equals best" automatically. The newer Spider-Men bring way more technical combat style and personality variation, but Tobey still has that iconic, almost mythic vibe that's hard to replicate

Daz92

I'm probably going to get hate for this, but I think nostalgia is doing a lot of heavy lifting for the OG Spider-Man praise. People forget how slow some parts of those films feel compared to modern pacing.

Still, there's no denying that Tobey nailed the responsibility angle of Peter Parker better than anyone else. That "with great power comes great responsibility" moment still hits hard even now
First post best post

Marcus95

I get why people call Tobey the best, but I think it depends what you value. If you want emotional storytelling, he's probably the strongest. If you want comic-accurate agility and modern action choreography, the newer versions win that easily.

Also, Andrew Garfield deserves way more respect than he gets in these debates. His Spider-Man felt the most like a smart, sarcastic kid who just happened to be a genius

Honestly, this debate never ends because each Spider-Man represents a different era of filmmaking. Tobey is the early 2000s heartfelt superhero era, Andrew is the edgy reboot phase, and Tom Holland is the MCU integrated version.

Calling one "the best" ignores how different the goals were for each portrayal. But if I had to pick the most emotionally impactful, Tobey still edges it for me
