DC Studios has found its new Robin. Collider reports that Mason Thames, star of The Black Phone and How to Train Your Dragon, will voice Dick Grayson in Dynamic Duo, an animated DC film due on 22 September 2028

The voice cast also includes Logan Kim as Jason Todd, Lee Pace as Red Hood One and Steve Buscemi as Red Hood Two

The film is directed by Arthur Mintz, co-founder of New Orleans based Swaybox Studios, which combines CGI, stop motion and real time puppetry. It is written by Matthew Aldrich, Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter

DC Studios co-chairman Peter Safran said Thames always wanted to be Dick Grayson, and described Swaybox's approach as being as original today as Pixar was when it made Toy Story

A film focused on two Robins is a fresh angle for the Batman universe, and the cast is strong. Swaybox's mix of puppetry and CGI could give it a distinctive look. Comparing it to Pixar's Toy Story sets a very high bar
