The much loved British sitcom Ghosts has made a successful jump to the big screen. Collider reports that Ghosts: The Possession of Button House, which opened on 23 October and became the UK's number one film, will be released digitally in the US on 21 November

It will be available on Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango in the US, and in Australia and New Zealand on 22 November. The article does not give UK box office figures

The original cast returns, including Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond, who also wrote the film, along with Lolly Adefope, Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe

It is a Monumental Production for BBC Film with BBC Studios, and producers include Alison Owen and Debra Hayward. The film is described as a spooky new chapter for the much loved characters from the BAFTA nominated series

Sitcom films have a mixed history, but reaching number one in the UK suggests this one has worked. The Ghosts team, many of whom started with Horrible Histories, have a brilliant track record. US fans who know the American remake may enjoy discovering the original cast

Have you seen the Ghosts film? And which British sitcom would you most like to see made into a film?
