Instead, Trump framed artificial intelligence as the next major technological revolution, potentially larger in scale than the internet itself and capable of contributing as much as 25 percent of GDP, positioning it as an opportunity to be aggressively pursued rather than a threat to be cautiously managed. Venture capitalist David Sacks, co-chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, publicly backed the framing, arguing on social media that AI has already created a million new jobs, boosted productivity and supported significant investment through AI driven growth.

The AI comments came within a broader UN address that also touched on conflicts involving Iran, Venezuela and Cuba, criticism of the International Criminal Court, and the current state of the US economy. Trump also indicated plans to appoint a dedicated AI Czar to help direct the administration's overall policy approach toward the technology going forward.
