SpinQ, a Chinese quantum computing company headquartered in Shenzhen, announced on June 30 the completion of a RMB 1 billion Series D funding round, approximately $147 million USD, bringing its total funding over the past six months to RMB 2 billion, around $294 million. The round was backed by CICC Capital, Shenzhen TopoScend Capital, Shanghai Semiconductor Industry Investment, AVIC Honghua and Shanghai SEARI Private Equity Investment Management, a lineup of institutional and defence-adjacent investors that reflects the strategic rather than purely commercial lens through which China is approaching quantum infrastructure.

SpinQ has been quietly building one of the most commercially distributed quantum computing operations in the world. Its products and services reach more than 40 countries and regions across five continents, serving over 200 universities, research institutions and industry partners. The company completed China's first overseas delivery of a superconducting quantum chip in 2023, China's first overseas delivery of a complete superconducting quantum computer in 2024, and began batch deliveries of its Ursa Major superconducting quantum computing systems in 2025. The new funding will accelerate fault-tolerant quantum computer development, upgrade core manufacturing, and expand the global ecosystem further.

The Shenzhen foundry now covers chip design, process development, fabrication, packaging and testing in a vertically integrated operation that has completed tape-out, packaging and validation for 25-qubit and 103-qubit superconducting chips. SpinQ is pursuing both theoretical error correction advances, with cascaded quantum Hamming code decoding research accepted at QCE 2026, and experimental hardware targets including validation of distance-3 surface-code quantum error correction by end of 2026. The company is also exploring Quantum plus AI and quantum-supercomputing convergence, envisioning QPUs, CPUs and GPUs operating together in heterogeneous computing infrastructure.
