Nvidia announced it's collaborating with a growing ecosystem of Australian cloud and infrastructure partners, including Firmus, Sharon AI, IREN, Megaport, ResetData, CDC, NEXTDC and AirTrunk, to expand land, power and shell capacity for its DSX AI factory platform, targeting up to 2 gigawatts of buildout capacity by 2027. Nvidia will supply the DSX platform, accelerated computing, networking and software, while participating partners operate the actual facilities, expanding access to Nvidia's Nemotron open models for Australian startups, universities, researchers and enterprises

Individual partner commitments include Sharon AI deploying up to 68,000 Nvidia GPUs, IREN building an 800-megawatt campus in South Australia, and CDC operating more than 550 megawatts of existing capacity across Australia and New Zealand with a further 800 megawatts under construction, using 100 percent renewable electricity and zero water advanced cooling technologies. Nvidia framed the expansion around building a new investable asset class, arguing DSX's compatibility with its CUDA ecosystem and ongoing software improvements make these AI factories more productive, fungible and durable assets over their operational lifetime

Healthcare AI company Heidi and workplace software firm Atlassian were cited as early beneficiaries, using Nvidia's Nemotron models to build clinical voice AI and enterprise semantic search respectively, both emphasizing local data control and Australian data residency as key requirements driving their use of domestically hosted infrastructure.
