The National Science Foundation awarded a 35 million dollar, five year cooperative agreement to the San Diego Supercomputer Center at UC San Diego to establish and operate the NSF National AI Research Resource Operations Center, working in collaboration with the Texas Advanced Computing Center at UT Austin. The center is designed to give American researchers, particularly those at institutions without their own massive computing infrastructure, shared access to the computing power, datasets and tools needed to conduct meaningful AI research
