Manchester United suffered a heavy Champions League defeat away to Como. K24 Digital reports that the Italian side won 4-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in Wednesday's early kick off, piling more pressure on Michael Carrick

Nico Paz was the star with two goals, and Anastasios Douvikas and Jacobo Ramon also scored. Joshua Zirkzee came off the bench to grab a consolation in the 91st minute, but it was far too little, far too late

Carrick was missing up to eight players. Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez and Patrick Dorgu were injured, Ayden Heaven was ill and Leny Yoro was suspended. There was one positive, as Matthijs de Ligt returned from back surgery for his first game since November 2025, playing alongside Harry Maguire

The result follows a 2-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid in the competition and the 1-1 draw at Leeds at the weekend. United are 13th in the Premier League, and the run of results is becoming a serious concern

Injuries explain part of it, but losing 4-1 to Como is still a shock. Maguire's comments about bravery after the Leeds game look even more relevant now. Carrick needs a response quickly

How much should injuries excuse this result? And how long can Carrick survive this run?
