Arkane Lyon's future is hanging by a thread. Kotaku reports that developers at the studio say Blade is nearly finished, but the studio will close if a buyer is not found by 13 November

French law requires a company to look for a buyer before closing a site, which is why there is a deadline at all. Developers have spoken about their hope that someone will take on both the studio and the game

Blade, a Marvel game starring the vampire hunter, was revealed at The Game Awards in 2023 to a huge reaction. Arkane Lyon is the studio behind Dishonored and Deathloop, and is one of the most respected developers in the industry

This is the second Arkane studio to face closure, after Arkane Austin was shut in 2024 following Redfall. Studio founder Raphael Colantonio has asked publicly about buying the studio back, which has given fans a little hope

Losing Arkane Lyon would be a huge blow to games, especially with a nearly finished game sitting on the shelf. A buyer gets a talented team and a project close to release. Let us hope someone steps in before the deadline

Who should buy Arkane Lyon? And could Colantonio bringing the studio back be the best outcome?
