Habits change quietly. Something that felt essential a few years ago can disappear from your routine without you even noticing. I realised recently that I have not burned a CD, printed a map or used a USB stick to move files in years. I also no longer charge my phone overnight every night, since batteries last longer than they used to

Some changes happen because technology improves. Streaming replaced downloading music, cloud storage replaced external drives and contactless payment replaced carrying cash. Others happen because we decide to change, like turning off notifications, deleting social media apps or stopping the habit of checking emails before bed

I am curious which habits people have dropped deliberately, and which just faded away. Some might be good changes, like spending less time on phones. Others might be things we miss, like making mixtapes or browsing physical shops for gadgets

It is also interesting to think about which habits we will drop next. Maybe passwords, as passkeys spread. Maybe typing, as voice and AI become more common. Maybe even owning a laptop, if phones get powerful enough

What tech habit have you dropped in the last five years? Do you miss it, or are you glad it has gone?
