A big SD card is convenient, but it can also put too many photos or videos in one place. For casual use, a single large card may be fine, but for travel, paid work, wildlife, weddings, or long video days, several smaller cards are often safer. A pair of cards like the SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC card or Samsung PRO Plus Full Size 128GB SDXC Memory Card gives you room without putting everything on one card. If you shoot higher bitrate video, using multiple Lexar Professional 1667x SD Card 128GB cards can be a sensible compromise. I prefer rotating cards during the day because losing one card is painful, but losing every file from the whole day is much worse

I use 128GB cards because they are big enough without feeling like all my eggs are in one basket.  I've bought a few fakes trying to buy cheap from Aliexpress

For holidays I do one card per day if possible. It makes backups and sorting much easier later

Huge cards are tempting for video, but I still swap them out when something important is finished

The only downside of smaller cards is managing them carefully. A labelled card case helps a lot
