Run both simultaneously, cloud for anything I need access to across devices, a physical drive at home for the genuinely irreplaceable stuff I never want dependent on a company staying in business

Curious what people's real setup actually looks like, not the ideal setup you know you should have, the one you genuinely maintain right now
Somewhere between inspired and overwhelmed

Purely cloud at this point, trust the redundancy more than I trust myself to actually maintain a physical backup routine consistently
Never pay full price. Never.

Local only, don't trust handing my personal files to a company's servers, external drives with proper redundancy work fine for my needs

Both, but I'll be honest my local backup routine has gotten sloppier over the last year and I know I'm overdue for an actual audit

Cloud for documents, local for anything media heavy, splitting it that way keeps my monthly cloud storage bill from getting out of hand

Genuinely just cloud with zero local backup right now, know that's risky but the convenience has won out over my better judgment so far

Multiple cloud providers actually, spread across two services specifically so I'm never fully dependent on one company's pricing or policy changes

PowerhouseHobbs_Fan

Local network attached storage at home plus an offsite cloud backup specifically for disaster scenarios like a fire or theft
