Boompod play when charging.

I have this wireless boompod that i play. but it runs out of charge. Fine. I'll put it on charge. but the things stops playing whilst charging. Any way to make it continue to play.
 Override it?

Sounds like the speaker is designed to disconnect the Bluetooth audio whenever external power is connected. Some manufacturers do that deliberately to reduce heat or electrical noise while charging.

If there is no setting in the manual to allow playback while charging, there may not be a workaround unfortunately.

That model number rings a bell, and a few portable speakers from that era behaved the same way. Charging mode basically became a separate operating state.

Have you tried a different USB charger rather than a PC USB port? It probably will not change anything, but it is an easy test worth doing.

If it immediately stops as soon as the charging cable goes in, that usually points to a firmware or hardware limitation rather than a fault.

A lot of newer speakers support charge-and-play, but some older waterproof designs never did because of the way the charging circuit was built.

Could be worth checking whether it behaves differently with an AUX cable instead of Bluetooth, assuming that model has a 3.5 mm input.

Some speakers disable wireless playback while charging but still allow wired audio. Bit of a long shot, but an easy thing to test. ;-)

If everyone with the same Aquapod model gets the same behaviour, then it is probably working exactly as intended rather than being faulty.

In that case replacing the battery, if it is possible, might be more useful than looking for a software fix because you would not need to charge it as often.

Looks like one of those design choices that seemed sensible to the engineers but not to anyone using it.

Stopping playback while charging probably protects the battery a little, but it is definitely inconvenient if you wanted it running for hours.

Bit frustrating when the battery starts running low halfway through listening.

If Boompod no longer makes that model, there probably will not be any firmware updates either. At that point the only real option is charging between sessions rather than during them.

Before giving up, try powering it off completely, connect the charger, wait a minute, then switch it back on while it is still plugged in.

Some portable speakers only refuse playback if the charger is connected after they are already powered up. Worth a quick experiment.

One thing to check is whether the charging cable is fully seating in the connector. A poor connection can sometimes make a device repeatedly switch between charging and normal operation.

Does the charging LED stay solid, or does it flash when you plug it in?
