Sports design has a huge following, with fans collecting retro shirts, debating new kits and judging helmet designs every season. A great kit becomes iconic, while a bad one is remembered for all the wrong reasons. Some designs are tied to famous moments, which makes them even more special. Others look great regardless of what happened on the pitch

Football shirts are probably the most debated. The Netherlands' 1988 shirt, Arsenal's bruised banana away kit and Germany's 1990 design are all fan favourites. Some clubs are famous for wild designs, especially in the 1990s. Rugby jerseys, cricket shirts and NFL uniforms all have their classics too

Formula 1 has its own design culture. Liveries like the John Player Special Lotus, the Marlboro McLaren and the Jordan cars of the 1990s still look stunning. Helmet designs are another area, with Ayrton Senna's yellow helmet and Lewis Hamilton's various designs often discussed. Some drivers change designs every race, while others stick with one for their entire career

Then there are the infamous designs. Kits that looked like pyjamas, liveries nobody liked and helmets that made people wince. Those are worth mentioning too

Which design is your favourite, and which is the worst you have ever seen?
