The hardest part with shock results is that people usually remember the scoreline and forget the context. A giant club losing to a lower ranked side is always fun, but sometimes a tactical mismatch is the real story behind it.

There have been plenty of examples where a supposedly weaker team sat deep, defended brilliantly and punished mistakes. Football loves making experts look silly for a weekend

For me the biggest shocks are the ones where the losing team has no excuse. An underdog beating a stronger side through effort and a clear plan is one thing, but seeing a title contender completely collapse against a team everyone expected them to beat is something else.

Those are the games that make fans check the table twice because they cannot believe what they are seeing.
