The Golden State Warriors produced a comeback for the record books. ESPN reports that the Warriors beat the Los Angeles Lakers 112-95 after trailing by 25 points, the first time in 30 seasons a team has won by 17 or more after being down by that many

The Lakers led 38-15 after the first quarter, with Luka Doncic scoring 21 points and five assists in that period alone. The Warriors then won the second quarter by exactly the same score, 38-15, the largest comeback from a 23 point deficit at the end of the first quarter to tie or lead at half time in the shot clock era

Stephen Curry scored 31 points, including eight points and three assists in the late second quarter surge, and he now has 75 points in his last two games. His signature moment came midway through the third quarter, when he isolated Doncic, who stumbled and fell, before hitting a three. Brandin Podziemski added 21 points and six assists, and bench players Georges Niang and De'Anthony Melton combined for 27

Doncic finished with 37 points. Coach Steve Kerr joked that 25 is the new 12, given how common big deficits have become. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg called it the worst game of his life after fouling out with five turnovers, but praised his teammates for having his back, and Curry said the rookie is built for the demands. The Warriors are now 3-3 after an 0-3 start

Curry continues to defy age with performances like this, and the Warriors' depth made the difference. Doncic was brilliant early, but the Lakers could not cope once the momentum shifted. It is a reminder that no lead is safe in the modern NBA

Is Curry still a top five player in the NBA? And should the Lakers be worried about blowing such a big lead?

Normal is overrated

Winning the second quarter 38-15 after losing the first by the same score is wild. Basketball momentum is a strange thing

The Lakers had no answer. Comebacks like this happen more often now, but 25 points is still enormous. The Lakers will be furious with themselves
Normal distribution is overrated

Lendeborg calling it the worst game of his life is refreshingly frank. Rookies have nights like that. Curry backing him publicly is great leadership

Curry at 38 scoring 75 points in two games is incredible. He keeps defying age. The Doncic stumble moment will be replayed all season. Pure Curry magic. Defenders cannot leave Curry for a second

Even at his age, his gravity bends defences. Teammates get open looks as a result
