Snooker's Home Nations Series is ten years old. SnookerHQ's David Caulfield has written a lovely retrospective, marking a decade since the first event, the English Open in Manchester, began on 10 October 2016. It is a nice moment to look back as the Northern Ireland Open approaches

The series replaced the old Players Tour Championship and covers four events, the English, Northern Ireland, Scottish and Welsh Opens. Their trophies are named after Steve Davis, Alex Higgins, Stephen Hendry and Ray Reardon, which is a fitting tribute to four of the game's great figures

There was originally a £1 million bonus for anyone who won all four events in a single season. Nobody ever claimed it, and it was scrapped in 2020. These days winners receive £100,000, plus a £150,000 bonus for the most consistent player across the series, which has been won by Neil Robertson and then Jack Lisowski

Judd Trump leads the all time list with six Home Nations titles, ahead of Mark Selby on five, and Mark Allen and Neil Robertson on four each. In total, 23 different players have won at least one event. Ten finals have gone to a deciding frame, and all four finals in the 2018/19 season finished 9-7

The series has given snooker more ranking events in the home nations and helped bring the sport to fans across the UK. The Northern Ireland Open runs at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast from 18 to 25 October, so the eleventh season of the series continues next week

What is your favourite Home Nations moment? And will anyone ever win all four in one season?
