The three-point line has essentially invalidated post play and completely changed basketball's geometry Modern players shoot threes from deeper than the line exists, making the original distance basically irrelevant Moving it back would recalibrate the value of mid-range shooting and inside play Getting rid of three-point specialists who can't do anything else would improve overall player development

But the three-pointer has made basketball exponentially more exciting, with shootouts replacing low-scoring grinding post games Young players love three-point contests and deep shots, so the line's in the right place to excite fans Moving it further back might actually make the sport more boring by reducing scoring and eliminating a skill that modern players have developed

The real issue is probably spacing and ball movement creating too much defensive chaos rather than the three-point line distance itself Some would argue the rule is fine and the problem is players have just gotten better at shooting from range, which should be celebrated not penalized

Three-point shooting has made basketball unwatchable, everyone just chucks

Modern basketball is brilliant because of three-point spacing, keep it as is
