Scotland absolutely had to get a result against Morocco and they produced one of the most disappointing performances of the tournament so far. Losing 1-0 when three points were mandatory is catastrophic. Now Scotland faces Brazil needing to not lose by more than one goal just to have a mathematical chance. The setup was perfect. Morocco wasn't playing for anything. Scotland needed to attack. Instead Scotland looked passive scared and overwhelmed. Morocco's goal came from nowhere and Scotland never threatened. The midfield was nonexistent. The defense was sloppy. There's no excuse for this level of effort when everything was on the line. Scotland's World Cup chances are now essentially over barring a miracle against Brazil.
