Floyd Schofield missed weight on his first attempt at Friday's weigh in, SportsGrid reports, but made 135 pounds on his second try. His opponent Lucas Bahdi came in at 134. The two meet tonight for the vacant WBA lightweight title at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, live on DAZN. Both men are unbeaten, which always adds something special

Schofield is 19-0 with 13 knockouts, and Bahdi is 20-0 with 15. Someone's zero has to go, as promoter Oscar De La Hoya put it. Schofield is one of Golden Boy's brightest prospects. Bahdi is a Canadian with real power and the confidence to match

The build up has been feisty. Bahdi said he is not saying Schofield is scared, but he probably should be, adding that he was about to make Schofield famous for the wrong reasons. Schofield fired back, saying Bahdi's team talks too much trash and they will be the ones in the hospital. It is typical fight week talk, but there is clearly needle here

There is also a row over rehydration. Schofield's side says Bahdi's team wants to add two pounds to the agreed fight night limit of 145, which Bahdi's camp denies. Boxing News 24 separately reported that Schofield's father threatened to pull out if Bahdi weighs over 146. Rehydration clauses are becoming a common flashpoint in big fights

On the undercard, Ricardo Sandoval defends his unified WBA and WBC flyweight titles against Sergio Mendoza. Mendoza stepped in after Oscar Collazo pulled out with a rib injury. It is a strong card from top to bottom. The main event between two unbeaten young lightweights is exactly the kind of fight boxing needs more of

Who wins Schofield against Bahdi? And does missing weight on the first attempt worry you about Schofield?
