Chelsea won 2-0 at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium, but the result was overshadowed by a worrying injury to goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. Goal's report, carried by Yardbarker, says Pedro Neto scored both goals, one early in the second half and one in stoppage time

The concern came in the 66th minute. Martinez collided with Jarrad Branthwaite as both went for a cross, and he lay still for several minutes while paramedics stabilised his head and neck. After more than ten minutes of treatment he was stretchered off and taken to hospital for precautionary checks. Branthwaite was able to carry on after treatment

Xabi Alonso said afterwards that, as far as he knew, Martinez left the stadium conscious and was having precautionary tests. That was a relief to hear after such a frightening scene. Neto dedicated the win to his goalkeeper

Mike Penders, 21, came on as replacement and became Chelsea's youngest goalkeeper in a Premier League match. He kept the clean sheet, which was Chelsea's first top flight clean sheet in nine months. That is quite a debut in difficult circumstances

Neto has been excellent, and two goals at a tough away ground is a great return. Most importantly, everyone will be hoping for good news on Martinez. Results matter far less than a player's health

Wishing Martinez a full recovery. How impressive was Penders after coming on in such a tough moment?
