Michael Carrick says Manchester United are in a good place, despite a difficult start to the season. Football365 reports that the head coach made the comments at his press conference before Sunday's trip to Leeds. He said he was telling the truth

The numbers do not look good. United have one Premier League win and six points from 18, leaving them in the bottom half. They also lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, after which Lisandro Martinez criticised the club's hierarchy

Carrick was positive throughout. He said the squad is in its best state for a while, that the players totally believe in him, and that outside talk does not affect them. Asked about Martinez, he simply said the defender is part of the squad

Last season was a big success under Carrick. United finished third and qualified for the Champions League, so there is some credit in the bank. Football moves fast, though, and early season results put pressure on any manager

Carrick praised Leeds boss Daniel Farke and called the fixture a major rivalry. A win at Elland Road would do a lot to back up his words. It is a big game for United

Do you believe Carrick when he says United are in a good place? And what is your prediction for Leeds against United?
