Real Madrid have won El Clásico and blown the La Liga title race wide open. Sports Mole reports that Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou on Sunday night, ending Barcelona's nine game winning start to the season

Kylian Mbappé was the difference. He opened the scoring in the 41st minute when a Gerard Martin clearance deflected off him and into the near corner. Raphinha equalised in the 61st minute from Pedri's reverse pass, his 13th league goal in nine games

Madrid won it in the 87th minute. Eduardo Camavinga beat Pau Cubarsí and squared the ball for Mbappé to tap in. Aurélien Tchouaméni was named man of the match

Barcelona had 62 percent of possession and 18 shots to Madrid's ten, though shots on target were close at six to five. The win cuts Barcelona's lead over Madrid from six points to three. Al Jazeera adds that Mbappé now has 14 goals this season and 100 for Real Madrid in all competitions, and Madrid lead the all time Clásico head to head 107 wins to 106

José Mourinho stayed calm afterwards, telling reporters, according to Al Jazeera, that a win at Camp Nou counts for nothing if Madrid then lose at El Sardinero, because they are playing to win the championship. Madrid's ability to win without dominating the ball is typical of a Mourinho side. Barcelona will be frustrated after creating more chances

Is Madrid now the favourite for La Liga? And did Barcelona deserve more from the game?
