Man City win 3-0 at Anfield as Doku, Haaland and Cherki shine

Manchester City won 3-0 at Anfield on Sunday to keep their perfect start to the season going. Football365's Dave Tickner has his usual 16 Conclusions, and it was a dominant display from the visitors. Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki scored the goals

Haaland opened the scoring after Doku's cross deflected into his path. Doku had come off the bench around 55 minutes, and he scored the second himself about 12 minutes later, cutting inside and curling his shot into the corner. Cherki added the third after Joško Gvardiol set him up with a cheeky behind the legs flick

Liverpool's afternoon got worse just after the hour when Ryan Gravenberch was sent off for a second yellow card, a cynical foul on Doku. Tickner thought the first yellow was soft, which made the dismissal feel harsh. Down to ten men and chasing the game, Liverpool struggled to create much

Tickner singled out Elliot Anderson as City's best player on the day. Anderson has been deputising for Rodri and has adapted superbly. City's control of midfield allowed their attackers to run riot

Off the pitch, City still face punishment after the guilty verdict in their financial case, so the season's final picture remains uncertain. On the pitch, though, they look formidable. Tickner admitted it is hard to stay mad at Haaland, Doku or Cherki when they play like this

Was this City's most complete performance of the season? And how worried should Liverpool be?

Doku coming off the bench and changing the game was brilliant to watch. His dribbling is unstoppable on his day. That curler for the second goal was gorgeous. Pep's substitutions keep paying off
