No real argument from me on that. The table does not lie over a full season, whatever people say about individual games.

The result will answer the question better than any of us can.

Form matters but the head to head record at this level matters just as much.

The £5 bet was brave, but Spurs getting relegated always felt like a long shot to me. They have had some chaotic periods, but the quality gap between them and the bottom three is usually massive. A bad run can happen, but having players like Son in previous seasons and the resources to strengthen makes a collapse all the way down much harder.

The funny thing about football is that we have all seen teams look doomed and then suddenly put together three wins. The Premier League loves making predictions look silly.

There was definitely a point where Spurs looked like they were sleepwalking into trouble. The defending was shaky and the confidence seemed low, so I could understand why people were tempted by that bet.

That said, relegation fights are usually decided by squads that cannot score enough goals or cope with injuries. Spurs have generally had enough attacking talent to avoid the absolute danger zone. The £5 might have been safer spent on a cup of tea though
