Oliver Bearman has still not formally signed a deal with Haas for 2027, but the team says there is nothing to worry about. PlanetF1 reports that team principal Ayao Komatsu wants to keep the young Briton. He described the delay as just a matter of timing, with an announcement to come in due course

Haas signed fellow Ferrari junior Rafael Camara earlier this week on a multi year deal to replace Esteban Ocon. That means Bearman and Camara should be teammates next season. It is a young and exciting line up

Bearman has had a strong second season. He leads Ocon by 23 points to 7 this year, which is an impressive gap against an experienced race winner. Komatsu said Bearman has shown he is ready to lead the team and praised his drive in Singapore

Komatsu also explained the Camara decision in more detail. He called the summer test at Portimao a clear shootout between four drivers, which Camara won. He said Bearman and Camara have similar potential, which should make for an interesting internal battle

Bearman has handled the pressure of F1 very well for a young driver. Leading a team at his age is a big responsibility, but he looks ready. Haas fans have plenty to look forward to

Is Bearman ready to lead Haas? And who will come out on top between him and Camara?

A Ferrari seat in the future is the obvious target for Bearman. Leading Haas is a good step towards that. He is building a strong case

Haas going young makes sense for their budget. Experienced drivers cost more

Young talent with upside is good value. Smaller teams cannot pay big salaries. Young drivers on development deals are good value. Haas has used that well
