The field for the 2026 Grand Slam of Darts is starting to fill up, DartsNews reports. Twenty nine of the 48 places are now taken. The event runs from 14 to 22 November at WV Active Aldersley in Wolverhampton, with a prize fund of at least £1 million. It is one of the most entertaining events on the calendar because of its mix of PDC stars and qualifiers from other circuits

The confirmed names include defending champion Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price, James Wade, Nathan Aspinall and Ross Smith. Several qualifiers from European Tour and Players Championship events are also in. Two notable names are missing so far. Jonny Clayton and Gary Anderson have not yet secured their places

There will be plenty of new faces. At least seven players will make their Grand Slam debut, including World Youth finalists Cam Crabtree and Jan Schmidt. Sebastian Bialecki, Joe Hunt, Paolo Nebrida and Adam Sevada are also on the debut list. Nebrida's presence is a nice reminder of how global the sport has become

The remaining places will go to the European Championship winner and runner up, a Women's Series qualifier, and the winners of the Nordic and Baltic and ANZ Premier Leagues. Seeded players from European Tour and Players Championship results will fill out the rest. Henry Coates won a Players Championship event without a Tour Card, so his place is not yet guaranteed. The field will be completed at the Tour Card Holder Qualifier in Leicester on 6 November

Littler will be hard to stop on his favourite stage. The Grand Slam format rewards players who can grind through group matches and then step up in the long knockout games. Clayton and Anderson both have a route in through the qualifier, but nothing is certain. Missing either of them would be a real shame for the event

Who wins the Grand Slam this year? And which of the debutants could cause an upset?
