England and Ghana played out a 0-0 draw in Foxborough that was somehow both boring and tense simultaneously. England dominated possession. England had the chances. England did not score. The defining moment came in the 86th minute when Nico O'Reilly met a cross from Reece James and rattled the crossbar. The ball dropped perfectly for Harry Kane who then launched it somewhere over the stadium and possibly into orbit. Ghana's goalkeeper Asare made a brilliant save from Saka. Declan Rice may have picked up a knock after a collision with Yirenkyi. Marcus Rashford came on late. England won five corners in six minutes of stoppage time. Ghana's defenders threw themselves in front of everything. The final whistle went with England still on four points, still top of Group L on goal difference only, and still unable to explain why Harry Kane keeps missing when it matters. Group L final round: England vs Panama. Ghana vs Croatia. Everything still to play for.

Kane. Crossbar. Open goal. Blazed over. This is not a new problem. This is a Harry Kane World Cup problem that predates Tuesday
