Daniel Dubois defends the WBO heavyweight title against Fabio Wardley at The O2 in London on Saturday 17 October, British Boxing News reports. The fight is on DAZN pay-per-view, with ring walks expected around 10pm. Bakhodir Jalolov against Solomon Dacres is the co-main event. Dubois comes in at 23-3 with 22 knockouts, and Wardley at 20-1-1 with 19 knockouts

Their first fight, at Co-op Live in Manchester in May, was a classic. Wardley put Dubois down in the first and third rounds, but Dubois recovered, and referee Howard Foster stopped the fight 28 seconds into the eleventh round. That made Dubois a two time heavyweight champion. Wardley used his rematch clause soon afterwards

Dubois is promising a quicker finish this time. "I'll finish it quicker this time," he said, adding: "This time around, it's going to be more clinical." Wardley admitted he was overconfident after the early knockdowns. "I was a victim of my own success in them early stages," he said. He summed up the rematch simply: "Going to be a rematch and going to be revenge"

All British heavyweight fights have become one of the most exciting parts of the sport. Both men can punch, both have shown they can take a shot and get up, and both will have learned a lot from the first fight. Wardley's rise from white collar boxing to world title challenger is one of the great stories in British boxing. Dubois has had to rebuild his reputation more than once

Who wins the rematch, and how? And can it possibly match the drama of the first fight?
