The undercard for the biggest fight of the year is taking shape. Boxing News 24 reports that Deontay Wilder and Jai Opetaia have agreed to fight on the Tyson Fury against Anthony Joshua card

The deal was reported by Dan Rafael, who said that while it is not yet signed, it has been agreed for the fight to take place on the Fury Joshua card. The event is on 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, shown on Netflix

Opetaia, the unbeaten cruiserweight champion, would be moving up to heavyweight. Wilder has won his last two fights, most recently a narrow split decision over Derek Chisora in April, but before that he lost four of five, three of them inside the distance

Dana White had said Wilder was among the possible opponents for Opetaia, who would like a fight with David Benavidez. Boxing News 24 argues that a defeat to Wilder could derail that bigger fight

Wilder's power makes him dangerous against anyone, but he is not the force he once was. For Opetaia, it is a big test of whether his skills carry up to heavyweight. It adds real value to an already huge night in Cardiff

Who wins Wilder against Opetaia? And should Opetaia be risking his unbeaten record at heavyweight?
