Right so Belgium versus Iran. Belgium had 70% possession. 622 passes. 23 shots. An xG of 1.82. They played the last 25 minutes with ten men after Ngoy decided the best way to deal with Taremi bearing down on goal was to take him out rather than, you know, not give him the ball in the first place. Iran's goalkeeper Beiranvand made seven saves including one at point blank range that physically should not have been possible. Belgium are now four World Cup games without a win. Lukaku was quoted after the match saying they play with too much emotion in key moments. The key moment being when your centre back loses the ball to a striker and decides a red card is the solution. Group G is absolutely wide open. Iran are second. Belgium are also second. It's all very confusing.

23 shots. TWENTY THREE. Against Iran. Who are not Barcelona. This is a special kind of useless

Beiranvand deserves a statue. Seven saves against Belgium's entire attack. Man was unreal
