An elderly man sat on a bench feeding birds that no longer existed anywhere else except in the small robotic flock the city maintained purely for moments like this. A child stopped to ask him about them, and he told stories nobody had asked to hear in years. The birds circled overhead like they understood the assignment perfectly. Some kindnesses just need the right audience to finally land
