Quantum networking sounds like the kind of technology that will stay locked inside universities, telecom labs and government funded projects for a long time. Still, home lab enthusiasts have a habit of eventually getting access to old enterprise gear once prices collapse. I wonder whether quantum networking hardware will ever become something hobbyists can experiment with, or whether the physics and safety constraints keep it out of reach
