Had a thought. Why is artificial intelligence growing so fast compared to quantum computing?

Artificial intelligence is growing faster because it runs on existing hardware.

Quantum computing needs completely different technology, which is harder to build and scale.

AI benefits from:

cloud computing
GPUs
existing infrastructure

Quantum computing is still solving basic stability and error issues.

So the gap isn't surprising at all.

That is the conclusion most people following it closely are landing on. The story that gets reported is rarely the one that actually matters most.

Worth watching closely.

The timeline estimates keep getting revised and nobody seems to want to admit why.

That is pretty much it. I had something similar happen.

Nice one. :D

Fair point, I would not argue against it. Interested to see where this goes.
