Google published Willow quantum chip benchmarks showing error rates decreasing as they add more qubits. This is historically the opposite of what happens. More qubits usually means more errors. If errors decrease with scale that validates error correction theory. The breakthrough isn't individual qubit quality it's that the error correction codes are actually working. This is theoretical validation becoming practical reality. The chip itself isn't quantum advantage yet but the trajectory matters enormously. Error correction has been the bottleneck for over a decade. Seeing it work at any scale changes the probability calculation for when useful quantum computers arrive.

This is the most important quantum result in years. Error correction working means the path forward is clear even if it's hard
