Classical computing is the heavyweight champion with thirty years of titles. Undefeated on general purpose tasks. Quantum computing is the challenger who has never actually fought a full match but whose training footage shows moves nobody has ever seen before.

Q: How does the fight go?

A: Rounds one through ten, classical wins every round. Word processing, streaming video, running databases, playing games. The quantum challenger does nothing. Round eleven is molecular simulation for drug discovery. Quantum lands its first clean hit. Round twelve is code breaking. Quantum knocks the champion down for the first time. The fight does not end with one winner. They shake hands, agree to tag team, and go after problems neither could beat alone

The tag team ending is the correct one and most people miss it. Quantum processors as coprocessors alongside classical systems is the real deployment model

The rounds where quantum wins are genuinely important ones though. Cryptography and drug discovery are not minor categories
