The interesting part is that NVIDIA does not need to build a quantum computer to move the sector. If its software stack makes it easier for classical systems and quantum processors to work together, that can still be a meaningful catalyst. The stock reaction may be dramatic, but the technical impact is a separate question.

There is a big difference between quantum computing becoming more useful and quantum stocks becoming more expensive. A software announcement can improve the first without magically fixing the second. We have seen plenty of tech sectors where investors sprinted ahead of the actual engineering timeline :)

The hybrid angle is what gets my attention. A realistic workflow might have a conventional GPU handling simulation and preprocessing, then a quantum processor tackling a particular optimisation or sampling problem before the results go back to the classical system. That is much more believable than the idea that GPUs are about to be replaced by quantum machines.
