NVIDIA announced 35 new AI supercomputers across 23 European countries providing computing resources to over 3 million researchers. The headline is AI but the quantum angle is the more interesting story. European research centres including CINECA in Italy, Fraunhofer in Germany, and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center are integrating quantum processors with GPU-accelerated classical systems. Italy's CINECA is working with French quantum company Pasqal to integrate a neutral-atom quantum processing unit alongside classical supercomputing infrastructure using NVIDIA's CUDA-Q platform. Germany's Jülich Supercomputing Centre achieved what they called a world-record simulation of a 50-qubit quantum computer on the JUPITER supercomputer. This is hybrid quantum-classical computing becoming real infrastructure rather than research concept.
