QDay is the point where quantum computers could start breaking a lot of the public key encryption that modern systems depend on

What makes this topic interesting is that it is not just a future tech problem. It affects how we think about banking, software updates, identity systems, and anything else that depends on long term security

My opinion is that people talk about QDay like it is still far away, but migration to safer methods takes time and planning, so waiting too long could be the real mistake

The question I keep coming back to is whether the biggest risk is the quantum computers themselves or the slow response from organizations that already know the transition is coming

I think this is one of those tech shifts where the technical side is only half the story, because the operational side may decide who gets hurt first
