Instead of asking which one stock to buy, a better question is how to build a balanced basket around the theme. For AI, that could include chipmakers, cloud providers, software firms, data-centre infrastructure, and companies using AI to improve their own products. For quantum, it might mean a smaller speculative slice in pure plays, balanced against larger technology firms that can fund long research cycles. The key is position sizing, diversification, and accepting that exciting themes still need boring risk control.

This would make a useful forum topic because people love stock tips, but portfolio construction is usually more important.

A basket approach makes more sense for themes where nobody knows the final winners yet. ETFs for everything these days.

I would keep quantum as a much smaller part than AI because the commercial timeline is less certain.

The phrase boring risk control is important. A good story does not protect you from a bad portfolio.
